Prosthodontics at the university of western australia
The speciality training program in Prosthodontics at the University of Western Australia Dental School is an accredited program by the Commonwealth Government through the Australian Dental Council (ADC). It requires the completion of a three-year full-time Doctor of Clinical Dentistry degree through the university of Western Australia and will provide graduates the ability to register as a Specialist Prosthodontist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). The program is predominantly clinically focused, with the majority of time dedicated to patient care within the modern facilities at the Oral Health Centre of Western Australia (OHCWA) for all aspects of fixed, removable and implant prosthodontics. Regular didactic seminars in all aspects of prosthodontics and multidisciplinary care are conducted. There is a required research component of the program, with the view to producing scientific publications which aim to answer clinically applicable research questions and to drive clinical decision making. With a mix of experienced and progressive prosthodontic faculty, the program provides a balance of fundamental and contemporary prosthodontic techniques involving the latest technology in digital dentistry. The program is suited for those who aspire to becoming leaders in the field of prosthodontics.
